Group 4

If you are in group 4, please comment on this post.

Comments:
First of all, we need to know who is in our group.

Second, we need to figure out what The Trajedy of Othello is about. If you have not already, please read Act IV and at least try to get an understanding for the overall plot. If it turns out everyone is having trouble understanding Shakespear's writing, I think we should try to meet before/after school or during lunch to discuss it.

Third, we need to divide up the work so that everybody comes out of this with a good grade and nobody is stuck doing too much work.

Next, we need to brainstorm ideas for the multi-media part of the presentation and conduct the necessary research for the rest. Even with the rubric, I am still a little confused about how we are going to create and answer a research question about Othello. It sounds like a science experiment, but without the hypothesis. Does anybody have any idea how that is supposed to work?

Finally, we need to contact the groups going before us and find out how they are going to make The Moor of Venice into a Cowboy. Don't forget to take note of any metaphors or similes you happen to notice in the script.

Assuming the presentations follow the time fram Mr. Wargo hinted at we should be presenting in about a week and a half.

where is everyone?

Another group had the idea of dividing our act into sections so that each of us could get to know one section extremely well so that if we need to make any last minute changes to our translation, we will be able to do it no problem. I looked through the act and was able to divide it up into about 8 sections. I think there are 5 of us. People who are working more on other parts of the presentation can do just one part. I also think we should have an executive editor to insure continuity within our act (otherwise, dividing it up may have dire consequences).

I had an idea for a possible research question for the paper outline we will be presenting: investigating the militaristic duty in Othello (both the play and the character). The idea is not yet perfect, nor finalized. More discussion is needed.

Anybody have any ideas for the interactive segment?

See you all tommorow.

Another theme in our act seems to be misinformation considering the main event of the act is Iago tricking Othello into thinking Cassio admitted having an affair with Desdemona. We could definitely incorperate that into part of our presentation on the first day.
